Here’s a Brilliant Idea

I’m really excited about this week because Project 18 Inc is going to be revealing what our new *top secret* project is that we’ve been banging on about for weeks. I think you’re going to love it… but if you don’t just pretend and act excited, ‘cause we do :)

Now, here’s a brilliant idea. As you know the sewing project items I’ve been making for Project 18 are now available from the website shop. They’ve got a huge range of bags, baby t-shirts, girls dresses, hair accessories & purses and an amazing promotion running at the moment, for every $5 you spend you get one entry into the draw to win a beeeeautiful leather Tempesta handbag from Exclusive Bags in your choice of black or ivory, delivered to you (or a lucky friend) ANYwhere in the world! That’s a total value of over $300!

Our last promotion raised over $1,000 for Project 18’s humanitarian and conservation projects, so in the spirit of Christmas I’m sure we can do the same again!

“But I don’t need a girl’s dress” I hear you say! Maybe you don’t, but there are hundreds, in fact, thousands of children and families in need in Australia this Christmas. There are families who are facing Christmas without gifts, without a pretty dress to wear, without a home or the food and basic essentials that most of us take for granted.

When you buy a gift for a family in need this Christmas from the Project 18 shop, you not only help the family but 100% of your purchase goes to help saving other children in desperate need.

I know a lot of people would like to send Project 18 cash donations or say “I’d love to support you, but there’s nothing in your shop that I need”. Well here’s your chance to create a win-win-win!

Unfortunately, our family has been made aware of the heartache of financial uncertainty at Christmas. We know how it feels to not know where you will be, or even if you will have a home. We know, even though they don’t want for much, the gut-wrenching feeling of knowing you can’t afford to give your child anything on that previously magical day. Maybe it’s self indulgent on our part, but we would like to get our Christmas thrills by knowing the items that I’ve spent so many hours sewing, will be donated to someone who shares our uncertainty, this year.

So, make my day… make my Christmas… buy a gift from Project 18 and give it to a child in need. After all, isn’t that the real meaning of Christmas?

If you don’t know any families who need some help, here are a couple of options for donating a gift, check with your local council or community groups for others:

Hi Cate, another good option to donate to is to http://www.backpacks4aussiekids.org/
Filling backpacks and nappy bags with essential and personal items for children going into foster and kinship care.

Despina does a great job. She is not a registered charity yet but is gradually getting her name known. She is on twitter as well @Bckpcks4AusKids
